The adventure begins. Paris traffic is crazy. It takes us awhile to get to the hotel where Nana and Pop are waiting for our arrival. We pick them up from their hotel and continue on our two hour journey to Normandy. All the kids were excellent and we got to our hotel that evening. It took a little longer than two hours with our pit stops, Rachel’s car sickness, and a stop at McDonalds. The McDonalds had a unisex bathroom where everyone shared the same sink, very strange in my opinion.
The Mercure hotel in Normandy was very nice with tranquil and relaxing surroundings. We ventured around town and found a nice restaurant by the water. I had a great salmon salad. Stephen, Bob, and Stan had shrimp with the heads still on. Genny and Nana had steak. Brady was getting fussy, so we weren’t able to have a proper crepe dessert, but opted for ice cream courtesy of Stephen. The best three euro ice cream you can find in the local shop, what a deal for six strawberry drumsticks.
Day Two – We head off to find a pastry shop. The shops didn’t open early, so we finally found a yummy pastry shop in another cute little town. Our long journey ahead begins. The pastry didn’t hold us, so another stop and McDonalds. This McDonalds had an impressive restroom with a baby toilet and baby sink.
A couple of hours later we arrive at the D-Day cemetery.

Of course it starts raining as we pull up, but we enjoy the museum and visit the memorial and grave site.
We head over to Omaha and Utah beach and see the German bunkers.
Five hours later we arrive at our hotel in Paris. Did I mention we had a long journey. The kids were excellent during the drive.
Day Three – We get dressed in our Disney apparel ready to see Disneyland Paris. We load up the van and are dropped off at the train station.

Nana, Pop, Genny, Stan, and Rachel continued on and visited the Chateau de Fontainebleau, while we anticipated the excitement of Disneyland.
After we checked into our hotel, The Sequoia Lodge , we headed over to The Walt Disney Studios.
Brantley loved seeing Buzz Lightyear, but Brady wasn't as impressed and started crying.
Disneyland was great! I loved walking down Main Street and hearing the Disney music. It almost felt like we were home in the states. The boys really enjoyed it.

Take a look at this website, it lists 1000s of hotels and bed and breakfasts in Abderdeen. I’ve used it lots of times and it always seems to deliver.
