Enjoying the Summer

The summer break has gone by really fast. I've managed to stay busy by spending more time playing with the boys, and less time cleaning up after them. I wish that was really true, but I have been trying hard to make it happen. At least I have a maid that comes and helps out every week. That is a big help; even if the house only stays clean for a few hours. I am actually looking forward to school starting up again. My two boys are such a handful when they are together. It is so much easier to do things with one child. Brantley and I had a great day with Brady in nursery today. I'm hoping to give Brady more quality one on one time once Brantley is in school for longer than two hours. I think it will be a great change for all of us.

The Weekend

Sunday -A day out at Deeside Activity Park


The boys at the Vintage Tractor Rally. I thought the boys would really like seeing these tractors, but they were not interested. They enjoyed playing in the sand and the other outdoor activities better than looking at the vintage tractors. It isn't any fun for my two unless they can actually get on the tractors and drive them. I took Brantley to the park today, and he wanted to ride the lawn man's tractor so bad. He kept following the poor guy around.

Brady loved this house. He kept saying he was cleaning his house.



After the Tractor Rally, we headed over to Craigievar Castle, the castle that looks like a Disney Castle. Steve took some pictures of me, but they weren't worth posting. I had tickets to the guided tour, but we couldn't wait an hour for the tour to start. I might try to come back when the kids are in school.

Saturday - Hayfield Equiworld Club by Hazlehead Park



Brantley had his second thirty minute horse walk on his favorite horse Busby.



Friday - Lydia's Fourth Birthday at The Paddock at Hoodles Playbarn in Oldmeldrum




The boys loved this bike.


We had Lydia and Claire over for a play date. The kids were relaxing with a snack after a hard day of play. This play date proved my point; girls are so much easier than boys. It isn't that my kids are bad, but they are loud, wild, and a little crazy. The girls thought Brady and Brantley were so funny when they were outside showing off in the garden / backyard. Brantley is going to miss sweet Lydia, when she moves back to Midland, Texas next week. Lydia is the first girl Brantley ever kissed. Lydia kept reminding me during the play date that Brantley kissed her at her birthday party last year.



Brantley had his first summer football camp last week. I loved the coaches and thought they did a great job with fun activities and different themes every day. Footstars is the name of this football program, and it is so much better than the football class he used to attend. I was so impressed that both Brantley and Brady are signed up for classes starting next week.


Brady played in the pitch, soccer field, next to Brantley's field during the hour practice. Stephen came by to see Brantley a few times during his football camp, and he ended up helping me out with Brady. I love Daddy help!


This is the only time Brantley will wear his tennis shoes. He insists on wearing his crocs whenever he isn't playing football.

Another Weekend- The Chinese Circus was in town.

The boys outside the Chinese State Circus tents. It was a good show. It was mainly acrobats, unicylces, and a lot of martial arts. This circus didn't have real animals. They did a Chinese tiger dance with the acrobats inside the big tiger costume.
